on data science and data engineering projects, making use of routinely collected healthcare data to improve health outcomes.

Promoting statistics as a tool for improvement
by developing novel methodology to solve problems, working with local schools to encourage young people to choose careers in data, and researching more effective ways of teaching statistics.
Research Software Engineering
Building and teaching open source software
such as R and Python, to improve research reproducibility and building communities to develop skills, especially in under-represented groups.
Data visualisation
Communicating data more effectively
by developing Best Practices for Data Visualisation guidance for Royal Statistical Society publications, and helping authors to implement best practices.
